The first thing that we noticed when making the latest update to the 2018 rankings is the depth of talent in this class. This could potential go down as one of the better classes in Maryland in Prep Baseball Report's short time in the state thus far. With the latest update to the class rankings, we expand from 70 to 100 in the 2018 class ranks and we start with our first change at the top.

For the first time Austin Elliott moves down one spot as his Cape Henlopen HS (DE) teammate Zack Gelof overtakes the top spot. There could really be a case made for the top three players and their worthiness of being the top player in the Maryland/Delaware area with Gelof, Elliott, and No. 3 Stephen Pelli (St. Mary's HS, MD). All three have continued to elevate their game over this summer and with Elliott making his verbal commitment to North Carolina early this summer, they will see each other plenty over the years as all have made their commitments to ACC schools (Gelof - Virginia, Pelli - Virginia Tech). Kudos should go to Cape Henlopen HS with three players inside the top ten (Elliott, Gelof, and newcomer David Erickson)

The PBR Future Games, the premier event for uncommitted 2018 and younger graduates across the country, gave us an up close and personal eye on some of the top 2018's on team Mid-Atlantic. Newcomers to the ranks include Team Mid-Atlantic members Kevin Madden, David (Trip) Willis, Luke Rettig and Will Glock. RHP/1B Joe Seidler was one of the biggest riser in the rankings after his performance during the Future Games.

Overall 30 new players have made their way into the rankings. Again this class looks to be a deeper one and should continue to unlock talent around the state. Enough talk, here is your sneak peek at the top 10:
