HIGHLAND - The recruiting process is a bit different than Jake Dresselhouse anticipated.

“I thought there would be more talking baseball stuff but they get to know your family,” the third-ranked uncommitted 2022 player in Michigan said. “There’s a stronger connection.”

South Florida and Kentucky are schools that the Orchard Lake St. Mary’s incoming junior has been in communication with at this early juncture of his recruitment.

“My high school coach Matt Petry reached out to them,” Dresselhouse related.

The versatile just-turned 16-year-old believes he can bring plenty to any college program.

“I’m a good team player that fits in with everyone,” Dresselhouse noted. “I’m about the team, not myself.

“I’m a talkative guy and a strong believer in God,” he continued. “I’m a good teammate with a good heart that’s dedicated to playing baseball in college.”

The dedication did not diminish when the spring season was cancelled.

“I worked out in my basement a lot and I’d go to a local field to hit,” Dresselhouse explained. “I also created a video and posted it on twitter.

“I feel I’ve improved a lot,” the 5-11 170-pounder added. “I’ve gained a lot of weight, gotten a lot stronger.and built up my velo.”

What position or positions Dresselhouse uses his tools is yet to be determined.
