Highly Ranked Left-Hander Batka Narrowing His Options

Austin Batka (Grand Rapids Christian HS) stormed his way into last season by participating in the Pre-Season All-State Showcase at Northwood in February. Since that time he has not looked back.
Batka finished his spring season with a second consecutive state title under his belt. In the state title game he sat between 84-87mph and threw a two-hitter.
Currently Batka is the highest rated lefty left uncommitted in Michigan but it appears that won't be the case for long.
So far he has seen interest from multiple mid major programs and to his surprise most of them have come from out of state.
"I didn't realize that I would have so much interest from out of state schools. I have visited Toledo. Illinois-Chicago and Cincinnati are coming to watch me throw. Xavier just called last night and I have an offer from High Point in North Carolina."
As for now Batka is trying to narrow down his list and focusing on getting better.
"I am doing a velocity program this fall and winter and hoping to be committed by the end of the fall."
