Inside the Recruitment: '16 C Connor Sonnier commits to Saginaw Valley State

PBR: Why did you choose Saginaw Valley State?
Connor: I chose SVSU because it is close to home, very affordable, and I loved the campus, people, coaching staff, and players.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Connor: Siena Heights, Delta CC, Davenport, Rochester and Grand Valley State.

PBR: SVSU is close to home was that a factor in your decision?
Connor: Yes it is close to home and they allow freshmen to commute.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you?
Connor: I played for Coach Garcia my sophomore year at Bay City Western and fall baseball for Coach Schwellenbach a few years. Coach Ebright has seen me at multiple camps, showcases, and games.

PBR: What team do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable moment?
Connor: I play for Saginaw Means Stamping and my most memorable moment was playing in the Connie Mack regionals, where we got to play against some of the best talent in the country.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced?
Connor: Brandon Wise from Legion Post 18 and Mickeys Sleds. Brandon is also a teammate of mine at Bay City Western.

PBR: Now that you have committed, what are your remaining goals for high school?
Connor: Continue to improve, enjoy my last year of high school, and I look forward to my senior baseball season with the ultimate goal of winning another State Championship.
