Kyle WolterKyle Wolter, RHP, Plymouth, 2016

PBR: Why did you choose Lawrence Tech?
Kyle: I chose LTU as it was truly the best fit for me. On top of being one of the best engineering schools in the country (I hope to become an engineer), I feel very comfortable with Coach Eldridge. He is a very experienced coach with a proven track record. He made me feel wanted and he seems to be a genuinely good person.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Kyle: Calvin, Albion, Kalamazoo, Carroll, and Wisconsin-Superior.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you?
Kyle: At one of my high school games.

PBR: What team do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable moment?
Kyle: MI Bulls. Playing in the Top Gun World Series against some of the best competition in the country. We be the Ohio Elite and a 90+ mph pitcher (I was 3-4 at the plate). We took a 3-2 lead to the 7th inning against the Premier Athletics (WI). We eventually lost 4-3 on a very controversial play. Their roster is made up of almost entirely D1 prospects/commits (I was 2-3 with a double and my out was hit over the CF’s head which is where the controversy lies, I'll say he didn’t catch it haha). I had an extremely good week at the plate, in the field, and on the mound during our very deep run in that tournament.

PBR: Now that you have committed, what are your remaining goals for high school?
Kyle: To keep getting better both academically and athletically. I intend to keep my GPA on the rise (all A’s so far this year). I am also working hard/studying in order to re-take the ACT in February and achieve a better score. I am also working hard on my body and game this winter. My goal for our Plymouth High School team is to win a regional championship (we won our first ever District title last year) and see where that takes us.

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter and pitcher that you have faced?
Kyle: The toughest pitcher that I have ever faced is Karl Kauffmann of Brother Rice. He is legit. The toughest hitter that I have ever faced is Josh Sulak of the MI Blue Jays. Happy that he is becoming a MI Bull next Summer as he is one tough out.
