MI: Q and A with Triton Commit Justin Gorr (Bay City Western High School)

By Brent Alwine

PBR Michigan Scouting Director

Justin Gorr 2014, RHP/SS, Bay City Western High School

PBR - Why did you choose Triton College? What do you plan to study in college?

Gorr – I committed to Triton College because it was where I felt the most comfortable with the school, coaches, and the atmosphere after my visits. I loved the winning tradition of the program and the work ethic the coaches install. I also feel that it gives me the best opportunity to play at the next level while giving me the chance to play both ways. I plan to study dentistry in college and become an endodontist.

PBR - What other schools were recruiting you?

Gorr – I was looking at McHenry CC, Purdue Calumet, Capital University, Elmira College, and Ohio State – Lima.

PBR - What are your goals for the season ahead as a team and personal?

Gorr – My team goals for the season ahead are to win the Saginaw Valley League and make a strong run in the post season tournament. My personal goal is to be more of a leader, being one of only four seniors, we are going to be a very young team but I think we will be able to surprise some of the doubters.

PBR - Who has influenced your baseball career the most?

Gorr – My Dad has influenced my baseball career the most. From Little League to high school, he has always pushed me to work hard on and off the field. After my surgery, he never gave up on me even when everyone else did. School has always came first and my work ethic in the classroom transferred over to the baseball field.

PBR - What is your most memorable moment in baseball?

Gorr - Getting the save to win the 12 year old state championship at home in front of 2,000 fans.
