Saginaw Heritage vs Catholic Central - 4/8/18
Spencer Schwellenbach SS / RHP / Saginaw Heritage, MI / 2018Scouting Report: Spencer displayed mound presence through three innings of work in 34 degree weather. Has a controlled motion moving to a letter high balance point throwing with fast arm whip from a high 3/4 arm angle. Fastball commands the zone well with late life. Sat 91-93 mph during the first inning of work, later working 88-91 mph through the next two innings. Worked an above average change up thrown with the same arm speed as his fastball 79-81 mph with arm side spin fading away from a left hand hitter. Used the changeup in all counts staying thigh high and below in the zone. Flashed an 11/5 curve five times during the game. Shows the makings of an above average pitch, command wasn't always there. Late bend on the curve with a short sharp break 74-77 mph.
