PBR Spotlight Game: Grand Ledge vs Battle Creek Lakeview

#11 Grand Ledge took on #7 Battle Creek Lakeview in the Division 1 district 10 semifinal. Both teams are full of talent and winner would take on Holt for the District title. Unsigned Senior Cole Winters took the hill for Lakeview to battle 2015 Wayne State commit Tyler Waldrop of Grand Ledge.

Lakeview took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom half of the 1st inning. 2016 Gavin Homer led off the inning with a single and scored as unsigned senior Tyler Horan singled to right field.

#7 ranked 2017 Nate Jones added another run for Lakeview in the 3rd on his triple off the right field gate and scored on a pass ball.

Grand Ledge’s offense erupted in the top of the 4th inning with 4 runs.

2016 Luke LaLumia doubled and stole third base. 2016 Samuel Davison reached on a free pass, 2016 Zach Hanes singled scoring LaLumia from 3rd. 2018 Cal Johnston crushed a 2-run double off the center field gate, and 2015 Kalamazoo Valley CC commit Jake Ellis followed with an RBI single making it a 4-2 Grand Ledge lead.

Waldrop threw a complete game with 5 k’s leading Grand Ledge to a 4-2 victory, advancing to the District 10 championship game.
