PBR Spotlight Game: Kenowa Hills vs Grandville

Grand Rapids- The power was on display early in this crosstown showdown between the Bulldogs of Grandville and the Knights of Kenowa Hills. The Knights swept the double-header 10-7; 8-5

After a leadoff triple from Findlay commit Brian Cappiello, 2016 SS Bailey Peterson was able to cash him in with a 2-run home run over the left field fence to give Grandville the early 2-0 lead.

Kenowa Hills Junior Jace Beatty was quick to answer in the bottom half of the 1st inning, connecting on a 3-run home run to right center field. Beatty would finish 2-2 with 3 RBIs.

In the bottom of the 3rd, the Knights’ Noah Bauer came up big with a 2-run double, followed by an RBI single from 2015 Muskegon CC commit Jacob Sposaro. Sposaro would end up 3-3 with 2 RBIs.

The Bulldogs managed to send eleven batters to the plate in the 5th, cutting the Kenowa lead to 9-7.  Northwestern signee Jacob Garbarino’s RBI single and Brandon Rozema’s bases clearing double created some noise for Grandville.

Ultimately, Kenowa starting pitcher Bennett Norry battled his way through 6 strong innings and left-handed pitcher Cade Cintorino closed the door in the 7th. Kenowa Hills picked up the win 10-7.

Kenowa Hills would go on to sweep the double-header from Grandville after winning game two 8-5. Grandville moves to 18-14 while Kenowa Hills ends the regular season at 27-4.
