PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?

Deutsch: I chose St. Cloud State because of a lot of reasons. Starting with the location, I wanted to be away from home but not too far and St. Cloud was the perfect distance for me. Also, the location is in the northern part of MN which I love the northern part of the state. It allows me to be able to fish and hunt up there. Another reason why I chose this school was the size. The size is perfect, I never really wanted to be at a school with tons of people and this school is on the smaller side which is perfect for me. The academic side of things was a big part of my decision, I will be entering the construction management program their which is a good program. Lastly, the baseball team is very good being rated the top Division 2 team in the state of MN.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Deutsch: I was considering a couple other schools including, Mankato State University, Iowa Western Community College, and South Dakota State University.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?

Deutsch: The coaching staff first saw me at the PBR showcases and the state tournament. We started talking in October quite a bit trying to find a time to go visit. Finally found a time to go visit, met the coaches, team, got a tour of the college campus, team facilities, and then made my decision a few weeks later.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?

Deutsch: Yes, very much relieved.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?

Deutsch: Not really besides the location and academic program.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?

Deutsch: Lots of coaches have helped me along the way, three of them that have helped me the most are Andy Judkins, Cory Glieden, and Tanner Oakes also my family has helped me tremendously.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?

Deutsch: To me the recruiting process was pretty easy, just very hard trying to find time in my schedule for the visits and trying to contact coaches and get coaches to contact me.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?

Deutsch: As of now I will be competing for the third base spot.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

Deutsch: Making a game saver catch in the State Semifinal game.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?

Deutsch: Probably Max Carlson
