Jake Goble - South Dakota State

PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?

Goble: I chose SDSU because it is a great fit for me and I loved the culture at the school.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Goble: The other schools I was considering were University of Minnesota and University of Iowa.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?

Goble: They first saw me at a d-bats showcase in Sioux falls. I was given their number by my coach and started calling them every two weeks or so.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?

Goble: I do feel relieved that I can just play baseball and focus on helping my team out anyway I can.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?

Goble: The one factor was that it is very close to home (only a 4.5 hour drive).

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?

Goble: The people who have helped me the most are all the coaches at Post 22, my parents, and Rich Downs who gave me private instruction starting when I was 10.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?

Goble: My expectations for the recruiting process were that I would be very hard to get the attention of coaches. The process was not easy and was stressful at times, but it was a great experience.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?

Goble: The coaches plan for me was to possibly pitch my first year and help the team out whatever way I can.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

Goble: My most memorable moment is pitching in and winning the state championship game last year.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?

Goble: The best player I have played against would have to be Max Debiec (pitcher). I hit against him during a baseball northwest tournament a couple years ago.
