Q&A With Uncommitted 2015: Jake Irvin (Bloomington Jefferson)
August 20, 2014
Jake Irvin, RHP, Bloomington Jefferson, Class of 2015
PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?
IRVIN: Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and Creighton
.
PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?
IRVIN: Unofficial visits to Creighton and Kansas State. I’m actually on my way to Notre Dame as we are doing this interview. And I am visiting Oklahoma and Kansas next week.
PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)
IRVIN: I want to go to a competitive program. Somewhere that has a great School of Business. Anywhere location wise is fine. That part isn’t that big of a deal for me.
PBR: What were some of your highlights during your junior year?
IRVIN: This summer I went with my club team to a tournament in Missouri and I threw a 1 hitter. Also in the Spring we beat Lakeville North who was ranked #1 in the state at that time.
PBR: What are your goals for this year?
IRVIN: I want to make my commitment in the near future. In the Spring I want to help our team to the state tournament and hopefully and state championship.
PBR: Do you play any other sports?
IRVIN: I played football early on in high school but now baseball only.
PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?
IRVIN: 31 ACT and 3.94 GPA
PBR: Do have any other thoughts?
IRVIN: I am very thankful for all my coaches. They’ve helped me tremendously. Especially my Legion Coach Ryan Martindale, High School Coach Jim Geff, and Club Coach with Project Baseball- Dan Sattler.
