Evaluation: 10/25/15- 6-foot-2, 175-pound left-handed pitcher. High leg kick delivery with balance and body control. Arm is clean and loose. Up and over on release. Fastball has life at 84-88 mph with heavy run. Shows command to both sides of plate. Maintains arm speed on curveball and changeup. 1/7 shape on breaking ball with late short break. Well above avg. fade on changeup. Duffy has made significant strides since Spring 2015 has become one of the more coveted arms in the 2017 class.

PBR: Why did you choose the University of Minnesota?
DUFFY: I chose the Gophers because I was always a big Gopher fan growing up. I like the coaching staff, the athletic facilities, and it's a great educational institution.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
DUFFY: The other schools I had interest in were Illinois, Nebraska, Bradley, Xavier, Angelo State, and West Point.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
DUFFY: The coaching staff first saw me at CHS/ Siebert Fall League. Our relationship developed well through multiple visits and phone calls with the coaches. I was happy with their open and honest talks throughout the recruiting process.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
DUFFY: I am relieved now that the process is over. Now I can focus on improving and the stress from the recruiting process is gone.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
DUFFY: There were multiple factors going into my decision but one would be being able to play close to home and my family.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
DUFFY: I can credit being where I am today to the multiple pitching coaches I've had access to throughout the years; particularly Adam Barta and Larry George.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
DUFFY: I never had a ton of expectations about the recruiting process but was fortunate enough to get some exposure this summer which sped up the recruiting process and made it easy.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
DUFFY: The coaches at Minnesota plan for me to work hard every day and hopefully earn some innings.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
DUFFY: My most memorable baseball moment was making it to the round of 32 at the East Cobb tournament in Georgia this past summer.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
DUFFY: The best player I have ever played baseball against is Michael Busch from Simley High School. He's a conference opponent and can hit the ball a long way if you aren't careful.
