Minnesota State Director

Adam Ellingson, C/UTL, Rochester Lourdes, Class of 2015

PBR:  Why did you choose Minnesota State University?

ELLINGSON: Mankato is a perfect fit. They are a good school, have a very good baseball program, and the campus isn't too big but isn't too small.

PBR:  What other schools were you considering?

ELLINGSON: At times I considered Augustana and South Dakota State for baseball and also Iowa State just for school.

PBR:  Where did they first see you? How did your relationship develop with the coaching staff?

ELLINGSON: I don't know exactly where they first saw me, but my relationship with the coaching staff developed quickly and really took off when I went on a visit there.

PBR: What role do you expect to play your first year on campus?

ELLINGSON: I will be doing whatever the coaches need me to do. The biggest priority is catching, but who knows what position I'll end up at by the time the season starts.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

ELLINGSON: The person who has had the biggest impact on me as a baseball player would have to be my grandpa because he introduced me to the game at an early age and I've been in love with it ever since.

PBR: What have you worked on/improved since last year?

ELLINGSON: I have been working on my quickness and flexibility behind the plate and increasing my power at the plate.

PBR: Who is the toughest player that you have faced in Minnesota?

ELLINGSON: Eric Veglahn

PBR:  What are your thoughts on the recruiting process? Any advice for future players in your position.

ELLINGSON: The recruiting process can be very slow but stick with it; and if you really want something go out and get it.
