Hanson broke out last summer at the ProCase, where sat 91-93 mph in a one-inning stint. His height and high-3/4 slot created good, steep plane and his fastball had heavy, late finish. His curveball had 11/5 shape and good depth at 78-80. At the Area Code Games, Hanson’s curveball was a little softer and looser, but still showed the makings of being at least an average pitch down the road. He sat 88-90, touching 91, in Long Beach. Hanson has a big frame that he is still growing into, but he’s athletic and has a short arm action.
