Top ranked teams highlight Saturday's games of the day

Ranked teams in Missouri sqaure off today, as aces will take the hill in more than one game.

Midwest Classic Tournament:
At 9:00am at C&H Ballpark, No. 1 Lee's Summit West will throw ace LHP Matt Hall (ranked No. 17 in the Classof 2012 and signed at Missouri State) against one of the hottest teams in the state, and undefeated (8-0) Francis Howell team, who has won eighteen games ina row dating back to last season. Howell will counter matt Hall with junior RHP Calvin Munson (ranked No. 36 in the Class of 2013), an upper 80's pitcher with good off speed pitches. The winner of this game will advance to the championship game at 4:00.

At 11:00am, No. 2 Vianney will take on Francis Howell North for the second time in the tournament. Both high powered offenses combined for just four runs in the first meeting, with Vianney coming out on top 3-1. Look for some major run production in this game.

If Lee's Summit West and Vianney can get by their opponents, the No. 1 versus No. 2 matchup could be a preview of a potential state championship game come June.

Jesuit Classic
At 10:00am, No. 19 SLUH will play host to No. 12 Rockhurst. The No. 2 ranked player in the Class of 2012, RHP Brian Howard, takes the mound against Rockhurst RHP Henry Weiler (ranked No. 12in the Class of 2012 and signed at Oklahoma). Both aces and top ranked players in their respective classes should provide a pitchers duel, with runs will be a premium and what shoul dbe a low scoring contest.
