Yard Baseball Club Scout Day: Quick Hits
October 10, 2024
On Saturday, September 28th, the Prep Baseball Missouri staff traveled to William Chrisman High School in Independence, MO to host the annual Yard Baseball Club Scout Day. This event, which is in its 4th year, featured 30+ players from the YBC program in attendence.
All of our events offer players the opportunity to update their recruiting resume and showcase their talents in front of our staff. We also use these events as identifiers for future invite-only events, like the Preseason All-State, our summer Top Prospect Games, and the prestigious Prep Baseball Future Games that takes place at the tail end of the summer. Earlier, our staff rolled out the day’s statistical standouts in leaderboard format within our ‘Stat Story’, which you can find HERE. Today, after combing through our notes from the day, we’ve compiled some of the event’s standouts within these ‘Quick Hits’. Read below to learn about 4 names that popped to our staff from Saturday's trip to Independence.
QUICK HITS
+ Long known to our staff, C Landen Danuser (Lone Jack, 2025) put together a strong performance in Saturday’s look, showing inherent raw strength in a 5-foot-9, 192-pound frame. A high end defender behind the plate, Danuser continues to add polish to his game, firing an event leading 80 mph bullet from the crouch and posting 1.89-1.96 pop times thanks to a quick, efficient transfer. In BP, the senior was consistently on the barrel, peppering line drives to right field, while flashing occasional pull side pop. Danuser also led all participants in exit velocity with a 94.6 mph mark on his best barrel.

His arm flashed accuracy from the chute with 2.03-2.06 pop times. Also a running back for the Pleasant Hill football team, Hartsell showed off the speed, running a 7.08 60 - good for top 5 on the day.
