Last year Team Carolina went 3-0 while also creating a ton of buzz off of the workout day. With another big turnout of 400+ college coaches and scouts anticipated for 2023, Team Carolina is set and ready to be the talk of the event again.
Team Carolina Corner Infielder Preview
Caden Davidson 3B / 1B / TC Roberson , NC / 2025
Physical presence in the box with the ability to punish pitchers for mistakes. Stands 6-foot, 195 pounds. Has tinkered with switch hitting and creates good bat speed and leverage from both sides of the plate. Hit right handed throughout the high school season, including a solid National High School Invitational week at USA Baseball with TC Roberson HS. Athletic around the bag at 1B, Davidson's stock could continue to rise as he solidifies his ability to play 3B, and potentially flip to a corner outfield, giving teams a ton of versatility with the advanced hit tool. Exit velocity has approached 93mph in BP sessions this summer, but it is the barrel feel and consistent hard contact that has coaches adding Davidson to their 2024 |
Matt McKnight SS / 3B / Charlotte Christian, NC / 2025Rankings StateRank: 32 / POS: 5
At 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, McKnight is still growing into his frame. While the finished product may still be a few years away, it is easy to dream. McKnight has rhythm in the box with good feel for the barrel. Even with length in the arms, there is solid barrel to ball ability at his young age. Exit velocity should be above 90mph with a solid round of BP at LakePoint. On the infield, again there is good rhythm and solid bend through the hips with an arm that shows easy carry and accuracy. He has recorded 86mph across the diamond in a workout. The top 60 time PBR has recorded is a 7.55, but we have heard of better times, and we have seen splits that suggest his 60 does not equate to the quickness he is playing with currently. |
Connor Robertson 3B / 1B / Mooresville , NC / 2025Rankings StateRank: 36 / POS: 4
High level hitter that has impressed PBR Scouts with each time he has played in front of them. The consistency of barrel contact has translated into a top exit velocity above 94mph paired with his average exit velocity at 87mph. Right handed hitter stands 6-foot, 195 pounds. In game situations we have seen a mature approach that peppers the opposite field gap while seeing spin and controlling the strike zone. A solid defender, Robertson is moving better and better each time we see him, running a 6.94 on the laser in June. |
