PBR X CSN PRO DAY PREVIEW: PITCHERS

We are just a few days out from the first ever PBR x CSN Pro Day taking place at Las Vegas Ballpark. This event will highlight the College of Southern Nevada prospects with MLB Scouts, Crosschecker, Supervisor and Directors in attendance. The Pro Day will include a Pro-Style Workout with position players receiving their updated metrics in the 60 Yard Dash (Laser Timed), TrackMan and Blast Motion analyzed Batting Practice Session, Catcher Pop Time/Velocity, Outfield Velocity/Evaluation, Infield Velocity/Evaluation and finally Pitcher Bullpens which will be analyzed and assessed by TrackMan.

We will now take a look at each of the Pitching prospects that will be in attendance with reports provided by Pitching Coach, Bryan Gidge.

Josh swales - RHP / Uncommmitted

Gidge Notes - "6’2” 195 RHP. Josh comes to us after being committed to the University of Arizona. Josh is one of the most talented players we have seen. He has an electric arm that has reached up to 97. Josh throws a fastball, curveball, slider and change up. He pounds the zone and has the ability to pitch backwards with his change up early in counts. His slider is a late breaking, sharp high velocity wipe out pitch. When his curveball is going he is next impossible to hit. Josh is going to be a success here and the next level. Great kid and even a harder worker."

Sam Page - RHP / Nevada commit
Gidge Notes - "6’1 200 lbs. 90-93 arm, with more in there,  slurve cb yet we’re developing a slider.  Has a plus change-up that he can throw anytime in the count.  He is a come right at you type of pitcher.  Hard worker on and off the field.  He can be a starter or reliever pending situation.  Pitched in every big game his whole life."

Trey Frahm - RHP / Uncommitted

Gidge Notes - 6’0” 225 RHP. Trey was a highly recruited two way player out of Nebraska. Trey is an athlete number one. He can run his fastball up to 97 with a very high spin rate. He has been able to develop a wipeout slider that can either be at 7:00 or 8:00 pending how he wants to throw it. All his pitches have very late life to them. He has the ability to pitch down or up in the zone which is hard to find in young pitchers. Trey is quickly becoming one of the top pitchers in the country, matching his already dominate arm strength. Trey is a kid that will not be out worked. He is a grinder on and off the field. That is the first thing I noticed about Trey.

Johnny Cuevas - RHP / Cal State Fullerton commit
Gidge Notes - "6’2 200 lbs. 2 year starter.  Sits low 90’s up to 96.  Professional arm right now.  Knows his delivery, knows how to pitch and knows how to win.  Loose effortless delivery.  Wipeout slider for his punch-out pitch.  Sometimes can get a little slurvey.  Has a developing change.  Has not needed it a ton.  Getting a good feel for it.  He can pitch with his fastball up and down.  Great mound presence."

Kris Bow - RHP / Arizona commit
Gidge Notes - "6’4 215 lbs.  Big boy and a big arm.  Sits 93-94 up to 95.  He is learning what his body is doing and how to be more consistent day to day.  He will throw 100 one day.  I believe he will be 97 very soon.  Big aggressive delivery.  High spin rate guy that needs to pitch at the top of the zone, 2700 FB.  Has a wipeout slider to put guys away."
