PBR: Why did you choose to commit to Nebraska?
GOMES:  I chose to commit to Nebraska because of how at home I felt being there. Also it was close to home so my family and friends can come and watch me whenever.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
GOMES: There were no other major school I was considering but when Nebraska offered my it was to good to pass up.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?
GOMES: The coach's first saw my when I had a fall baseball tournament down in Lincoln. My relationship with the coaches has only gotten stronger since then. On my first unofficial visit it already seemed like I was apart of their family.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
GOMES:  It feels really good to have the process done and over with because now I can just go out and play the game I love without trying to impress anyone.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
GOMES: The deciding factor for me was easily the atmosphere and how close to home it was.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
GOMES: My dad has by far helped me the most not only in baseball but had a person. He's always pushed me to be the best I can possibly be and he's also been there for me through thick and thin. Also the coaches I've had so far they have pushed me and supported me through everything. They never lost faith in me and I can not thank them enough for everything they have done for me.

PBR: What are your expectations of your team throughout the rest of the season?
GOMES: We have a very good team, we all get along and it's a little family and if we keep working hard and pushing each other I feel like we will be one hard team to beat when it comes to state.

PBR: What part of game will you be focusing on improving over the next two years?
GOMES: There is not one thing I'm going to focus on, there is always room for improvement in every part of my game whether that's hitting, pitching, fielding, base running everything can be improved on.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
GOMES: I don't think I have a most memorable moment. I love the game and that love continues to get stronger. I get a new favorite memory every time I step on the field. I just love baseball.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
GOMES: I'm not sure who the best player I've played against is. There are too many good baseball players out there that play the game differently I can't narrow it down to one player.
