Name:
Kenny Allred
Class: 2017
Commitment: Allen County CC
School: Bellevue West
Positions: OF
Height/Weight: 5'8, 170 pounds
Throws/Bats: L/L

PBR: Why did you choose Allen County CC?
Allred: I chose Allen County after a visit/workout with them, and fell in love with the program. Allen has a very special mentality in that they play hard-nose baseball, and are a very blue-collar program. The coaches and players were very impressive with the way they went about the game, and made me feel like I was at home.

PBR:  What other schools were you considering?
Allred: University of Central Missouri, St. Cloud State University, South Dakota State, Heartland Community College, Johnson County Community College.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
Allred: The coaching staff was able to watch me play an entire tournament in Allen on my fall team this year. Shortly after the tournament, Coach Meyer had asked me to come for a workout/visit. From that point on, I began to click with Coach Meyer, as well as Coach Stoy on multiple levels.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
Allred: Yes. Being able to focus on just baseball now allows me to continue to develop as a player, and help my team on the road to a state title this year.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
Allred:
Allen's mindset and philosophy is very similar to what I experience now at the high school level. Both the coaches have made me feel apart of the family already. The ability to work hard, look good, but also to get the education I look to carry on with really played a crucial part in this

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
Allred:
Both of my parents have allowed me to thrive and succeed at the highest levels possible. They constantly push me to extremes, so I may become to best person and ball player I can be.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
Allred:

Coming in to the process, you want to rush and commit right away. Throughout it, you  learn to continuously keep patience and composure. It's easy to say now, but it was hard to live it out

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
Allred: Coach Stoy and Coach Meyer both look to refine my swing my freshman year. They expect me to come in and work hard, and help contribute to the team significantly my first year at Allen.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
Allred: Winning the Metro Baseball tournament in 2016. It was a surreal feeling to beat quality programs and experience with all my buddies.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
Allred:
Matt Waldron, his ability to command the zone and have great stuff puts him over the top when facing him.
