2023 Connecticut Preseason College ID - Quick Hits

The Position Players

  • Andrew Blanco, Fairfield Warde, 2025- A left-handed hitter, balanced, smooth stroke from the left-side, loose and upward, driving it to both gaps. Barrelled a bunch, hard contact. Showed clean feet and a loose arm from the outfield.
  • Josh Green, St. Joes, 2026- A right-handed hitter, even feet, simple line drive approach, quick hands to the baseball, can control the bat. Exit of 82 mph, with a ton more in there.
  • Paden Larkins, St. Joes, 2024- A right-handed hitter, open to even, strong hard contact, line drive approach, drives the baseball with authority. Both rounds were legit, with an exit velocity of 89 mph. An above average runner, throws well from the outfield at 83 mph.
  • Jake Failla, Shelton, 2027- A left-handed hitter, only a 2027, can really run, quick off the blocks, top of the order type guy. Swing is short and compact, simple and repeats it with ease.
  • Justin Silverstein, Shelton, 2024- A monster switch hitter, shows a fluid swing from both sides. Driving the baseball to the gaps from both sides, had an exit velocity of 87 mph. Threw 87 mph from the outfield.  Big time athlete.
  • Harry Jones, Shelton, 2027- A right-handed, whip and life to the barrel, stayed in the middle of the field, with an advanced approach for a 2027. The frame is super projectable and has above average strength.
  • Arthur Honychruch, Trumbull, 2025- A left-handed hitter, loose and upward, with life to the swing.
  • Simon Honychurch, Trumbull, 2025- A right-handed hitter, wider, open stance, hands stay inside the baseball, took a solid round of batting practice.

The Arms

  • Nicolas Coppola, St.Joes, 2024- A left-handed pitcher, super clean arm from a ¾ slot, natural run and sink to arm side. The delivery is simple and repeats it. Mixed all 3 pitchers, fastball up to 81 mph, look for a jump. Changeup showed proper fade and action.
  • Justin Silverstein, Shelton, 2024- A right-handed pitcher, a monster long and lengthy frame. The delivery is hybrid, good direction, some forward lean. The arm action is long and loose, working from a higher slot, everything is downhill. The fastball was up to 85 mph, showing feel for the change up. Threw both breaking balls, with the curveball ahead of the slider.
  • Alvin Rosario II, St. Joes, 2025- A left-handed pitcher, quick arm, harder tight slider, worked both pitches down in the zone. Hides the baseball well, sneaky fast.
  • Ayden Magliocca, Notre Dame of Fairfield, 2025- A right-handed pitcher, fastball up to 78 mph, it's a heavy ball with bore action. Breaking ball had good shape and spin to it.
  • Austin Leifer, St. Joes, 2024- A right-handed pitcher, arm action is short, quick, good downhill flight, sink and run to the fastball at 78 mph. Mixed in a smaller, tight slider at 69 mph, with depth to it. Solid, durable pitchers frame.
  • Harry Jones, Shelton, 2027- A right-handed pitcher, higher slot, repeats delivery, arm action is long and loose. Located the fastball down in the zone at 79 mph. Look for him to be a legit guy.
