Week of 9/7

Sameer Dhillon 3B / RHP / Malvern Prep, PA / 2028

Rankings  StateRank: 172 / POS: 22

The 5-foot-11, 191-pound physical 2-way prospect has been turning heads on the summer circuit with his ability to hit for contact and command on the mound. On the mound, he has ran the FB up to 87 MPH while sitting 83-85. He pairs the FB with a CB sitting 70-74, and SL sitting 75-76 spinning both pitches at over 2000 RPMs giving him 2 quality offerings. He also features a CH sitting 75-76 completing his 4-pitch mix. At the plate, he has come up clutch enroute to 2 PBR Summer Championships at the PBT Pennsylvania Open and the PBT Pennsylvania World Series. At the plate, he has a balanced squatted setup with rhythmic hands that generate a 96 MPH Max EV working the ball from gap to gap with a quality contact tool. 

 

 

Nicholas Hricenak C / SS / Mid Valley, PA / 2029

The 5-foot-10, 155-pound lean and wiry prospect right-handed pitcher showcased a firm fastball with ride from a three-quarter arm slot, sitting 82-84 MPH. His slider at 67-68 MPH tunnels well off the fastball, giving him a quality secondary offering with swing-and-miss potential and making him an arm to watch moving forward.

 

 

Matt Chin SS / OF / Old Bridge, NJ / 2028

Chin, recent Binghamton commit, is the 30th ranked player and 7th ranked shortstop in the Garden State’s class of 2028 rankings. A physical athlete measuring at 6-foot-2, 180-pounds who athletically tested very well with a 6.76 sixty-yard dash. Chin possesses an intriguing skillset that contains explosive characteristics offensively and defensively. Offensively, we worked out of a taller setup with loose and rhythmic hands. Chin produced a peak exit velocity of 98.3 mph and flashed a strong swing foundation with above average potential power and hit tools at the next level. Defensively, he flashed fleet of foot laterally paired with a strong arm that peaked at 89 mph across the infield. Mechanically, metrically and athletically possessing the tools to stick at shortstop for years to come. Keep an eye on Chin as he looks to lead Old Bridge to another 20+ win season.

 

 

Dante Placenti OF / Caldwell, NJ / 2028

The 5-foot-8, 175-pound outfielder stacks up as one of the state’s pound‑for‑pound more intriguing athletes. Placenti posted a 6.88 sixty at the Top Prospect Games and peaked at 20.7 mph, showing real explosiveness and straight‑line burst. At the plate, he minimizes excess movement, working from a compact rearward load into a balanced, repeatable swing. The barrel stays on a linear path that naturally creates backspin, producing a peak exit velocity of 95.2 mph. Defensively, his 86 mph arm strength, straight‑line speed, and quick‑twitch actions give him the tools to handle centerfield at the next level. 

 

Bentley Williamson 1B / 3B / Logan Senior High School, WV / 2028

A West Virginia Top Prospect Games standout showcased his offensive prowess during the workout and game play portions of the event. The physically stout first baseman measured in at 6-foot-2, 210-pounds with room for lean muscle. Offensively, Bentley produced a max exit velocity of 99.0 mph flashing an above average power tool. He lands into a strong hitting position creating a rubber-band like stretch with a rearward lead arm extension. Bentley works the barrel on-plane efficiently producing gap-to-gap line drives showing strong hands through contact. Keep an eye on this WV product as he continues to develop.

 

 

Jared Boon OF / 1B / Fillmore, NY / 2028

Rankings  StateRank: 41 / POS: 11

 6-1, 180 lb OF with athleticism and present tools. Runs a 6.66 60 with a quick 1.64 10-yard split, showing legitimate range and closing speed in the outfield. The arm has been up to 85 MPH adding defensive value, while the bat produces a 96.3 MPH max EV with a 67% sweet-spot rate. Speed, range, and continued offensive development make him an intriguing follow.

Dylan Bigbie LHP / OF / Rocky Point High School, NY / 2028

Rankings  StateRank: 117 / POS: 3

Intriguing 5-foot-9, 168 lb LHP/OF with a quality three-pitch mix and standout movement traits. The delivery has good tempo, finishes with intent over the front side getting 6' EXT. The FB reaches 83.7 MPH with ride and glove-side action, while the CH shows heavy fade and the CB gives hitters a distinct third look. Adds an 82 MPH OF arm and developing offensive tools. The mound profile makes him a left-hander to follow closely.

 

 

Logan Augustyniak 1B / OF / Tewksbury Memorial High, MA / 2028

Rankings  StateRank: 105 / POS: 13

 

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound left-handed hitter has a strong, physical frame with present strength throughout the build. His controlled lower-half and quick hands work together to create a compact swing path, showing the ability to drive the baseball with authority to the middle and pull side. His present power is backed by a 94.7 MPH Max EV, with continued physical development and improved ability to stay through contact pointing toward increased offensive impact.

 

Andes Chai 3B / SS / The Loomis Chaffee School, CT / 2028

Rankings  StateRank: 87 / POS: 7

Chai is one of the more intriguing, long‑term upside two-way talents in New New England’s 2028 class. The 6-foot, 181-pound right-handed hitter has already posted impact metrics on both sides of the ball. Offensively, the right-handed bat shows natural leverage from an athletic, slightly wide setup, using a smooth leg kick to load into the back hip before launching into an upward, line-drive path. Powered by impressive hand speed (24.4 mph) and bat speed (82.9 mph), he’s already produced a 99.0 mph max exit velocity with an 85.5 mph average and a 368-foot max distance, signaling real future power as the frame continues to fill out. On the mound, the fastball operates in the 78.0–80.0 mph range, peaking at 80.2 mph with an elite 17.2" max induced vertical break (IVB) that generates late swing-and-miss above the barrel. He backs it with a 68.2–69.2 mph slider showing -8.0" max horizontal sweep, a 62–67 mph curveball, and a 72.0 mph changeup with 14.5" arm-side fade. He works from a calm, repeatable side-step windup into a high chest-level leg tuck, driving linearly downhill with a clean, high 3/4 release slot.
