Scouting Report
Mooney has a stock 6-foot-1, 195-pound build. He pitches with dynamic lower half mechanics with solid direction. He is explosive and fast twitch with plus arm speed. He has a bulldog mentality which allows him to pitch above his stuff and consistently dominate the "big stage". His fastball was 86-88 miles-per-hour; has been up to 91 in the past. His curveball is 12-to-6 when thrown in the zone; 11-to-5 when thrown more aggressively with two strikes. The curveball, thrown between 74-76 MPH, has very tight spin and is a definite plus out pitch. His changeup is serviceable at 82-83.
