Team New Jersey picked up the its first win of the 2019 PBR Future Games earlier this morning, 4-2 over Team Connecticut.

2021 RHP Chase Petty (Mainland HS, NJ) started off the game for Team NJ on the hill. He was electric from the start with two scoreless innings at 92-94 in the first inning. Rattled off a 80-83 late-breaking slider and mixed in a changeup at 82-85 as well with heavy armside fade. Lean, athletic frame at 6-foot-1 175-pounds. True-3/4 slot with a lightning quick arm action and heavy armside run on his fastball. One of the top uncommitted 2021s in the country.

2021 RHP Eric Schroeder (Delbarton HS, NJ) was equally as impressive in his two inning of work. The athletic 6-foot 180-pounder worked a fastball at 85-86 from a high-3/4 slot. Broke off two separate breaking balls - a true slider with late-breaking 11/5 action at 75-77 and a 73-75 bigger-breaking curveball as well. Schroeder punched out the side in his first inninng of work and collected another in the second inning. He did not let up and hit and only surrendered one base runner on a walk.

The scoring got going for Team NJ when 2022 SS Christopher Maldonado (Seton Hall Prep HS, NJ) beat out a tough play to 3B - that scored a run with two outs. The next batter, 2021 OF Daniel Roman (Cliffside Park HS, NJ) scorched the next pitch up the middle to score two runs.

The fourth run of the game for NJ came when 2021 C Tyler LeRoy (Delran HS, NJ) grounded into a 6-4 fielder's choice.
