NJ Games Announcement: 2017 RHP Michael Gutierrez member of the Northeast Team

9/20/15 -- Gutierrez has an XL build at 6-foot-2, 225 pounds. He has a level swing plane from the right side and has shown the ability to hit with pop to his pull side. He has decent foot work around the bag at first and can pick it well. His upside, however, is on the mound. He pitches with deliberate tempo and a high leg kick. His arm action is deceptive as he gets to the top of his arm swing early and pauses. From almost the ear, he shows a fast arm at a high 3/4 arm slot. He pitches with sink to his heavy fastball at 84-87 miles-per-hour. His breaking ball comes in with tight, 12-to-6 movement and depth at 69-73 MPH. His changeup has some late downward action at 75-77.
