The Rode Show: 2018 Future Games Day 2

WESTFIELD, IN—Thursday marked the first day of games at the 2018 Future Games and there was no shortage of highlights. Team Iowa/Minnesota had the 2017 Future Games MVP in SS Mac Horvath (Rochester Century HS, MN) and is making a case for one in 2018. 2021 SS Aaron Downs (Pella HS, IA) has been impressive the first two days, showing strong defense and a short, compact swing that produces loud compact. In his first game, he was 2-for-3 with two triples.

Team Canada had a strong showing with a couple of interesting arms in RHP Simon Lusignan (De Mortagne HS, ON) and LHP Connor O’Halloran (St. Martins HS, ON). They also got a couple home runs from 3B Tyler Hinrikus (Resurrection Catholic HS, ON) and SS Bryce Arnold (Blessed Trinity HS, ON) while C Raphael Pelletier (Edouard-Montpetit HS, ON) showed off some good defense behind the plate.

Also standing out on the mound were RHP Teddy McGraw (Oneonta HS, NY) and RHP Robert Ready (St. Augustine Prep, NJ).

For Team Missouri, SS Tavian Josenberger (Park Hill HS, MO) hit a home run off the scoreboard in right field. 1B Nick Neal (Randleman HS, NC) also continued to show off his power with a double and home run.
