If you are looking for a catcher, there are still plenty available in the State of Ohio.

One of the top names left on the list is Loveland’s Darren Sackett.

The left-handed hitting prospect, who also stars as a linebacker on the football team, is exploring several possibilities.

“The schools I am looking at now are Mount Union, Miami, Ohio, and Evansville,” he explained.

In particular, Sackett talked in detail about Mount Union, a program that he visited this past weekend.

He noted, “I have built a relationship with the Mount Union coaching staff. They seem really interested in me.”

Speaking about his other options, Sackett continued, “I have built the same type of relationship with Ohio, Miami, and Evansville. I talked to all three coaching staffs and I feel the best they would offer is a walk on spot.”

At this time, he has only attended camps at the previously mentioned Division I programs.

“I think the leader right now is Mount Union because I feel I have the best shot to play all four years there.”

This past summer, Sackett played with the Midland Braves.

He maintains a 3.1 grade point average and made honor roll the past two years.
