2021 Ohio Top Prospect Games: Quick Hits - The Gold Gloves
Keegan Holmstrom LHP / 1B / Grove City, OH / 2024Rankings StateRank: 14 / POS: 3
Report: Another guy who we could have put in just about any category in this article is ‘24 LHP/1B Keegan Holstrom out of Grove City HS. Athletically a guy who oozes feel/isn’t surprising that he also is a Point Guard on the basketball team. The ball skills stand out in all phases whether it’s filling up the zone on the mound, consistently squaring up the ball at the plate, or his uniquely advanced defensive abilities at first base. The reason we put him in this category instead of the several others we could have put him in is you could make a real argument he’s the best defensive 1B the state has seen in several years. |
Andrew Cox SS / RHP / William Mason, OH / 2023Rankings StateRank: 37 / POS: 10
Report: INF Andrew Cox out of Mason HS had himself a day. Athletic mover in all phases who looked the part in the box then was super smooth up the middle. Ball skills are advanced and he moves laterally with ease. All the skills to stay up the middle at the next level. Very talented guy who raised his stock and it was already really high in our book. |
Ryder Kirtley SS / 2B / Troy, OH / 2024Rankings StateRank: 15 / POS: 4
Report: 2024 SS Ryder Kirtley (Troy) was one of the top overall athletes in attendance who can flat out pick it. Fast-twitch actions, rangy/can cover a ton of ground and make plays on the move with ease. Considering tools he’s the type of talent that can play just about anywhere with a legit shot of staying at the SS position. Top 15 prospects in class. |
Carter Sunderman SS / RHP / Williamsburg, OH / 2023Rankings StateRank: 113 / POS: 22
Report: It had been a while since we got eyes on SS Carter Sunderman (Williamsburg HS) and we’re sure happy he decided to make the trip to Prasco Park. Well-rounded talent who took a strong BP from both sides of the plate, ran a sub 7.0, and flat out picked in the middle of the infield. Positionally, few improved their stock more than Sunderman on this day. |
