We would like to thank all who participated in PBR Ohio's 2022 Scout Day: Central Ohio Cyclones. This was a great opportunity for the class of 2023-2026 prospects to be put on college radars. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase. Below we have the complete statistical results from the event as well as the top performers across various different categories.

2022 Organizational Spotlight: Central Ohio CyclonesMatt Hall talks with us about the organization.
1) How do you feel the showcase went?
Hall: I felt the showcase was a success although there was some anxiety on how to best utilize our space for the showcase. With more than 190 players within the Central Ohio Cyclones organization, we were excited to be selected by Prep Baseball Report. Our Central Ohio Cyclones high school showcase team currently consists of players from the classes of 2022, 2023 and 2024 with 21 players on the roster. Our organization was built with our high school showcase team just five years ago and this group has helped pave the way for all our other teams and age groups within the Central Ohio Cyclones organization (we have nine teams for 2022) since our inception in the fall of 2017. From the start our goal has always been to help give our players every tool available to help promote them and their abilities. We educate our players on the recruiting processes and have always seen Prep Baseball Report as a great way to promote the players and their summer teams.
2) Who are some of the prospects that stood out to you?
Hall: Multiple Prospects stood out to me from the Showcase for multiple reasons;
I also was impressed with two players returning from major injuries suffered last spring. Class of 2023 shortstop Nathan Hall is less than six months from a severe compound fracture suffered taking a throw at second base at the end of July. Class of 2023 RHP.3B Sam Taylor is also returning after suffering an arm injury that required Tommy John surgery. I felt both players have worked their way back from their respective injuries and will be ready to compete when the season starts.
Lastly, I was impressed with the two younger players
3) Any performances worth mentioning?
4) In looking at summer, touch on some highlights that are ahead and what you expect.
Hall: We are looking forward to the coming spring/summer season. We returned everyone from last year’s 16U Team (19 players) that finished last season 28-18. We were able to win two events and finished runners-up in a third event. Multiple injuries and 7x7 football impacted our end of the season last year, so several players are looking to rebound from injuries and finish the junior summers on a high note. Layton O’Rourke, Michael Niro, Nick Dolci and Gabriel DeJesus will lead a talent-laden pitching staff with Sam Taylor, Carter Ross and Lucas Miller also providing depth. We will have a 22-person roster for the summer. We won the Beavers Dam Wood Bat Event, the Midwest Tournament Factory Marysville Mayhem Event, and finished runners-up at the Crossroads Baseball Bluegrass Classic in Louisville last summer.
5) Are you registered for any PBR tournaments and, if so, which ones and what are your thoughts on them?
Hall: For the 2022 Summer, the HS Showcase Team is traveling to Greenville, S.C. for the Black Bear Classic as well as the Buckeye Showcase at Wright State University. We are debating between the Music City Mania Event in Nashville or the PBR Virginia Championship the last week of June. Last year we played five PBR events so I would say when it’s all said and done, we will end up playing three to five PBR events again this summer when we finalize the summer schedule.
