By Chris Valentine and Dan Machovina

Today, we break down the Best of the Rest from the Class of 2016 at the Northern Ohio Showcase in Westlake, Ohio. Previously, we broke down the Top Prospects from the Class of 2016 at the event.

Weston Engberg, LHP, Westerville Central HS

5-foot-8, 142-pound smallish prospect. The southpaw uses a slow deliberate delivery with an inward leg kick. Shows short arm action with regular effort to his repetable delivery. Fastball sits 75-76 mph with some run to it. Curveball shows 1/7 movement at 65-67 mph. Changeup shows similar movement to the fastball at 66-67 mph. Overall good command of all three pitches. Will be an interesting follow as he physically matures.

Zachary Sefcik, 1B/RHP, Crestwood HS

5-foot-10, 195-pound prospect with a soft frame. Ran a 7.88 60. Needs to continue to improve foot speed and foot work around the bag. Uses short arm action to reach top velocity of 60 mph with his throws. At the plate, the right-handed hitter starts with good balance. His hands start high during his load. Tends to wrap. Shows pull tendencies in his swing.

Chris Sittinger, RHP/OF, Keystone HS

5-foot-10, 138-pound two-way prospect with thin, lanky frame. Ran a 7.73 60. From the out field, he reached a top velocity of 69 mph. Uses long arm action through high ¾ arm slot. Needs to continue improving footwork and fielding the ball infront of his body. At the plate, he starts with a closed stance from the right side. Power will increase with better use of his lower half. Needs to continue improving balance as he gets heavy on his front side. On the mound, he throws through a high ¾ arm slot. Doesn’t use much of an inward turn in his delivery. More left in the tank. Fastball shows some run at 71-73 mph. Curveball is soft and gradual with 11/5 break at 60 mph. Changeup shows similar movement to his fastball at 63-66 mph. Chris is the younger brother of 2012 Marshall recruit Brandyn Sittinger.

Brent Todys, C/3B, Westerville North HS

5-foot-8, 153-pound catching prospect. Ran a 7.81 60. Throws through an over the top arm slot. Reached a top velocity of 66 mph from the crouch. Shows good accuracy to his throws. Pop times sat between 2.28-2.35. At the plate, the right-handed hitter starts with a slightly open stance and in a crouch. Uses a big load. Registered a top exit velocity of 75 mph off the tee. Generates line drive production.

Jordan Wharton, SS/2B, Copley HS

5-foot-11, 145-pound prospect with lanky frame. Ran a 7.65 60. Uses short arm action through high ¾ arm slot. Needs to continue improving footwork. Tends to get tall early instead of playing through the ball. Shows good potential with actions, quick transfer, and ability to throw from different angles. Starts with a tall, balance set up at the plate. Uses a short stride. Line drive type hitter with opposite field tendencies in his swing. Another interesting follow as he polishes up his skills and develops better physical strength.
