Scouting Report

6/23/16
Vorhees possesses a 6-foot, 180-pound athletic body frame. Behind the plate he uses quick footwork to get himself turned and in line on his throws down to second base. He also displays quickness in his catch to release transfer, producing a top velocity of 77 mph on his throws to reach pop times between 1.90-2.01. Right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance, getting himself squared back up to even before he swings. He uses a fluid load with his hands moving toward his back shoulder. Swings with a slightly upward bat path, finishing with a two-handed follow through. He showed strength and the ability to use both sides of the field during his round of batting practice. On the mound he uses some effort to his delivery. He lands slightly more closed at foot strike, and finishes with his momentum carrying toward the first base side. He throws with a long arm action, using some quickness to his arm speed, through a ¾ slot. His fastball showed tailing action at times between 81-84 mph. His curveball had some sharpness, at an 11/5 plane between 66-68 mph. He threw his changeup using fastball arm speed between 68-70 mph.
