Defiance, OH - Two top 15 ranked teams in Division IV and Green Meadows Conference rivals met along with 40 mph wind gusts. No. 2 Tinora got the best of No. 13 Ayersville by a final score of 4-2.

San Jacinto JUCO commit Clay Pittman (pictured right),Clay Pittman vs Ayersville who grounded out with runners on second and third and two outs in the third got another chance in the fifth and made up for the first go round. Pittman broke open the 0-0 game with a bases clearing double to deep left. Without the stiff cross-wind, the senior three-hole hitter would've blasted a long grand slam.

With the Rams up 3-0 and Pittman on third after a stolen base and unsigned senior Derek Drewes on first after an intentional walk, talented sophomore Brevin Renollet grounded out, but Pittman scored on the groundout.

Now up 4-0, the Rams starter Pittman, got into trouble for the first time in the bottom of the fifth, as talented left-handed hitting outfielder Jacob Kahle doubled and scored to cut the lead to 4-1.

Tinora's ace Reid Renollet came in for the sixth and seven inning, allowing a run in the seventh as Kahle and Austin Zahrich had infield singles, with Kahle scoring on an error. With the go ahead run at the plate, the left-handed pitcher induced a 1-6-3 double play, where Drewes (pictured below) made a nice pick and throw to first, to give the Rams a 4-2 victory and their first win in Green Meadows Conference action.

On the day, Pittman went five-plus innings, allowing one unearned run on two hits and one walk while striking out six. Renollet came in for the final two innings allowing one unearned run on two hits and one walk while striking out two.

Ayersville's Lawson was the tough-luck loser on the day as he gave up four runs (all with two outs) in his five innings of work. The talented unsigned senior gave up four hits and three walks while striking out just two.
