PBR Spotlight Game: No. 12 Coldwater vs. Patrick Henry district semifinals

LIMA- Eric Schmackers fired a four-hitter helping No. 12 Coldwater knock off Patrick Henry 6-1 in the Division III district semifinals at the University of Northwest Ohio.

Schmackers allowed only a first-inning run in his complete game effort, striking out five and not walking a batter.

An Austin Christman single, a passed ball and a Kolby Seemann base hit gave PH the early lead but Coldwater went in front for good with two in the bottom of the second. Matt Kramer and Jordan Klosterman each had RBI singles for the Cavs.

Two Patrick Henry errors helped Coldwater (20-8) score three runs in the fourth, with Drew Otten capping the inning with an RBI single.

Alex Stamman brought in the last Coldwater run in the fifth with a run-scoring single. to right field.

Kevin Kline, a University of Toledo recruit, went the distance for the Patriots (17-10) giving up nine hits and two walks, while fanning four.

Randal Muhlenkamp had a single and double to lead the nine-hit attack by Coldwater, which takes on No. 18 Lima Central Catholic (18-7), an 8-1 winner over Ottawa-Glandorf, in Saturday's 2 p.m. district title contest.
