Mason, OH - The beautiful Prasco Park (home of PBR Ohio's Top Prospect Games) hosted the 4:30pm Tuesday match-up between the Elder Panthers and La Salle Lancers.

Elder sent unsigned right handed pitcher Austin Koch to the mound, while La Salle decided on using senior right hander Eric Schrand.  Both showed some overpowering stuff on the mound, and for the most part kept the opposing lineups in check.

The scoring got started in the bottom of the first, when La Salle cleanup hitter Joe Kemme stroked a line drive up the middle plating Alex Dickey.  Unfortunately for the Lancers, Elder pitcher Austin Koch settled in and quickly shut down their lineup.

The Elder bats answered right back in the top half of the second inning, tieing the game at 1-1 when left handed hitter Dominic Faillace pulled a double into the right center gap, and later scored on a bunt single.

With the momentum starting to swing in Elder's favor, the Panther lineup took advantage.  After an error and a single to right by 2015 prospect Kyle Orloff, this brought cleanup hitter Sam Hauer (pictured right) to the plate. Hauer came up clutch tripling, and smoking the ball deep over the center fielders head; he eventually came around to score giving the Panthers a comfortable 4-1 lead.

Panthers Austin Koch eventually was relieved by Cincinnati commit Kyle Koppenhoefer.  Koch finished 4 2/3 innings striking out 5, while leaving the game with a 5-1 lead.

Koppenhoefer was able to keep the Lancer lineup in check in the sixth and seventh inning only giving up one run, and handed La Salle their second loss of the season.
