Bryan, OH - When you bring together two rivals from the Northwest Ohio Athletic League, you know there is a chance that you could see a classic, No. 4 Bryan (D-II) and No. 8 Archbold (D-III) provided a nine inning thriller on a beautiful Friday night. The Golden Bears defeated the Streaks by a final score of 4-3.

Bailey Martin vs Archbold

In the ninth inning, Archbold (4-2) jumped ahead of Bryan 3-2 as senior Chandler Wyse led off the frame with a single, scoring on three errors by Bryan in the top of the frame.

Bryan (3-1) answered with two in the bottom of the ninth. With junior Kyle Rupp on first, senior Austin Martin laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance Rupp to second. After a walk, junior Nate Rau reached on a fielders choice to put runners on first and third.

With two outs and talented sophomore Deylen Miley up to the plate, it looked as though Archbold's starter, Tyson Schnitkey (Dayton commit) induced a game-ending groundball, but a misplay at first base allowed Rupp to score and put runners on first and third.

With unsigned senior Jordan Bostater coming to the plate, the Blue Streaks elected to intentionally walk the third baseman to load the bases and bring to the plate junior Bailey Martin (Bryan's starting pitcher on the day, pictured left). On a one-two pitch with two outs, the right-handed hitter blooped a walk-off single to short right-center to give the Golden Bears a 4-3 win over arch-rival Archbold.

Bailey Martin (ranked number 124 in the 2015 class) went 5.1 innings allowing one run on four hits, seven walks and two HBP while striking out five. The righty threw 106 pitches in the game. Martin also had two singles including the walk-off in the ninth.
