PBR Spotlight game: No. 5 Columbus DeSales vs. Cincinnati Wyoming

DAYTON-The last hurrah for senior-dominated Columbus DeSales will take place at Huntington Park in Columbus.

The defending Division II state champions, which feature a starting lineup of all seniors, earned another trip to the Final Four with a 3-0 blanking of Cincinnati Wyoming.

Dominic Delmonte walked, moved up on a sacrifce bunt and scored the first run for the Stallions on a Chris Kurek single in the third inning. Delmote then drove home Nick Eltzroth and Brad Bohus in the fourth inning with a single. Both Eltzroth and Bohus reached on singles.

That was all No. 5 Columbus DeSales would need for senior right-hander T.J. Alas, who went the distance, fanning four and allowing five hits, to push his career record to 20-0.

Sophomore right-hander Henry Moore (4-2) went four innings to take the loss for Wyoming (17-12), giving up five hits and one walk with two strikeouts.

The Stallions (25-6), which have given up more than one run just once in the tournament, take on Mentor Lake Catholic on Thursday at 1 p.m. in the state semifinals.
