Q and A with 2013 Adrian Commit: Dakota Cararo (Gahanna Lincoln HS)

Dakota Cararo, C, Gahanna Lincoln HS, Class of 2013

PBR: Why did you choose Adrian?

Cararo:  I chose Adrian because I liked the campus, coaches, facilities, and the academics.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Cararo:  I was considering Marietta, and Notre Dame College.

PBR: Where did the coaches first see you? How did your relationship develop with their coaching staff?

Cararo:  They were first able to see me at the Walsh Jesuit showcase over this past summer and after getting a few emails and phone calls I was able to schedule a visit and later a football game and a over night with some of the players.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?

Cararo:  They expect me to get a lot of playing time. With two senior catchers this year and a freshman, I will be able to make a contribution to the team next year with only one other catcher on the team.

PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that you will help Adrian baseball?

Cararo:  I think my biggest strength is my catching ability, and being a good leader both on and off the field. I hope to be a good leader in my next 4 years at Adrian.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?

Cararo:  Last year I played for the Ohio Panthers but this is going to be my first year with the Columbus Cobras. My most memorable experience was just hanging out with my team in the hotels.

PBR: Now that you have your commitment out of the way, what are your goals both individually and for the team for the rest of your senior season?

Cararo:  My goals for myself are to get bigger and stronger by hitting the weight rooms hard this year. As for my team, I am going to help lead us to another District title and a chance to play in states.

PBR: What were your stats for last spring season at Gahanna Lincoln?

Cararo:  I was second on the team in batting average with a .421 average and second on the team with 41 hits and an OBP of .485

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?

Cararo: The toughest pitcher that I have faced was the past 2 years hitting against Nick Jensen-Clagg from Pickerington Central.
