Q and A with 2013 Case Western Commit: Andrew Rossman (North Royalton HS)

PBR: Why did you choose Case Western Reserve?

Rossman: I chose Case Western Reserve because I felt like it provides me with the best opportunity to achieve my goals in the future, both academically and athletically.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Rossman: I was considering Case Western and Marietta.

PBR:  Case Western is a well known for their academics, how much of a role did that play in your decision and how do you plan to balance the demands of academics with your time and effort on the playing field?

Rossman: The academic setting that Case Western offers is second to none, and that played a huge role in my decision. I am confident that I can succeed both in the classroom and on the field due to my strong work ethic.

PBR: Where did the coaches first see you? How did your relationship develop with their coaching staff?

Rossman: Coach Callahan first saw me at the Showcase for the Cure at Walsh Jesuit. He contacted me soon after and my relationship with both him and Coach Englander grew from there.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?

Rossman: The coaches expect me to come in, work hard and compete for innings right away.

PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that you will help their baseball program?

Rossman: I feel like my dedication and work ethic are my biggest strengths. The easiest way to improve a team is to lead by example and put the time and work in.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?

Rossman: I play for the Midwest Pelicans. The most memorable experience was playing against all of the great competition in Georgia at the Perfect Game WWBA.

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have faced in Ohio?

Rossman: Forrest Perron, current freshman at the University of Cincinnati
