PBR: Why did you choose Heidelberg?

Walton: I liked the school for its academics and for the success the baseball program has had.  

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Walton: Ohio Wesleyan

PBR: With Coach Fitzgerald becoming the new Head Coach at the end of the season.  How does it feel to be a part of his first recruiting class?

Walton: I am excited to play for Coach Fitzgerald. I believe he will carry on the tradition well. 

PBR:  You have recently jumped up on the radar screen in the recruiting process.  What can attribute to your recent success?

Walton: I have worked hard in the last two years to try to improve defensively and offensively.

PBR: Now that you have your commitment out of the way, what are your goals both individually and for the team going into your senior season?

Walton: Having recently wrapped up my senior season, I am looking forward to the competitive play of summer tournaments with my summer team, Hornets Elite.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer? 

Walton: Previously I have played for the Xenia Scouts , during those five years, I have enjoyed playing with that group of guys and playing for Coaches Jon Venters and Christian Demko.

PBR:  What person has the great impact on your baseball career and why?

Walton: My dad has the greatest impact on my baseball career because he has invested many hours working on my game with me. 

PBR: What were your stats this spring season at Xenia? 

Walton: Batting Average: .262 , On Base Percentage: .344 , RBIs: 18 , Fielding Percentage: .975 

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio? 

Walton: Jeremy Randolph because he has a commanding fastball and keeps you off balance with his off speed.
