PBR: Why did you choose Ohio Christian?
Mason: I chose OCU because I loved the coaching staff and the campus was a great fit for me. The atmosphere was amazing. The university had the major I wanted.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Mason: Muskingum, Bluffton, Shawnee State, Cleary University
PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with the coaching staff?
Mason: During the summer of my junior year. I met Coach Reynolds and his staff on a visit to OCU. After several phone calls and emails the staff made me feel like they really wanted me to be a part of their program.
PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?
Mason: They expect me to compete for a spot in the line up as a freshman.
PBR: What summer team do you play on and how has travel baseball helped your development as a player?
Mason: Central Ohio Clippers 17U. Playing travel baseball really helped me develop the mental aspect of the game. My coaches talk a lot about being mentally prepared, and that helped me become better at the catcher position. Also being able to play a variety of positions made me a more versatile player.
PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?
Mason: My dad, he has spent countless hours helping me develop my skills as a hitter and a catcher.
PBR: What were your stats for this spring season at Pickerington North?
Mason: Plate appearances-81, Batting avg-.375 ,Runs -14, RBI -28, OBP- 481
PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?
Mason: Corey Stanley from Bloom Carroll or Cole Gibson from Gahanna
