Jack Goodwin, 3B, Class of 2014, Rock Hill HS

PBR: Why did you choose Muskingum?

Goodwin: I chose Muskingum because athletically and academically they stood out to me as my best option; with a great coaching staff and the type of atmosphere that I wanted in the classroom.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Goodwin: I was considering Ohio Wesleyan, Otterbein, and Marshall University.

PBR:  Where did the coaches first see you compete and how did your relationship develop with the rest of the coaching staff?

Goodwin: They first saw me at the Class of 2014 Unsigned Senior Games. My relationship developed with the coaching staff by phone calls, email and visits from the time they first contacted me up to now.

PBR: What role does the coaching staff expect you to play during your first year on campus?

Goodwin: They expect me to come in and compete, playing 3rd and OF and also wherever else they may need me, and to bring back a title.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

Goodwin: My dad has impacted me immensely; he has always been there for me and still continues to help me become who I am today as a player and individual.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most exciting experience playing summer ball?

Goodwin: I play for the Ohio Redstorm in the summer and my most exciting experience playing summer ball would be winning a tournament that had rain delays all day and we eventually got started around 11PM and won the game around 1AM.

PBR: What were your stats last season for Rock Hill?

Goodwin: I do not have specific numbers but I had one homerun, several doubles and more than enough walks.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher you have faced in Ohio?

Goodwin: Derek Moore, who now plays for Shawnee State
