Unsigned Senior Spotlight: Jordan Hitt (Southeastern HS)

Jordan Hitt, RHP, Southeastern HS

Southeastern right-hander Jordan Hitt’s arm is healthy once again.  After logging 69 innings last spring and posting a 6-3 record with a 1.40 ERA, Jordan was diagnosed with a dead arm last summer.

Throughout the winter the unsigned senior has been doing therapy with Dr. Kremchek and he feels like he is ready for another successful spring.

“I am hitting in the mid 80s consistently touching high.  I have developed two new off speeds in the off-season and they both have helped me out this year.”

In February, Jordan attended PBR’s Unsigned Senior Showcase and he felt very positive about his performance.

“The showcase showed that my fastball was on the right path. I am back to full recovery now.”

Here is what PBR has to say about Jordan:

The 6’0, 200-pound right-handed pitcher has a thick, solid frame. He uses long arm action with quick arm speed through a high ¾ arm slot. He throws a heavy 80-83 mph fastball. He shows command of both his curveball and his changeup. His curveball has late 11/5 breaking action and stays around 70-71 mph. His changeup is thrown near fastball arm speed and stays between 69-72 mph while showing effective fade down in the zone.

Jordan has been discussing his 3.0 GPA with Urbana and Wittenberg, along with a few other schools.  He is hoping to make college decision by the end of the spring season.

Academics is the number one. Then the coaching staff. Just looking to further my baseball career and further my education is the big thing.

In 2011, Jordan pitched for the Ohio Elite.  He is still unsure of his plans for this summer.
