Miami Valley Open ID Results: Top Outfielders



Top Outfielders
Logan Heffernan (2013/Lebanon)
The 6-foot, 160-pound outfielder displayed athleticism and power. From the outfield, he registered 81 mph while throwing into the wind. At the plate, the right-handed hitter uses a wide stance and setup. His quick bat speed and level extension generates powerful line drives to all fields. He ran a 7.11 60-yard dash.

Max Lyon (2013/Toledo St. Francis DeSales)
The 6-foot, 160-pound outfielder registered 75 mph from the outfield. While his arm strength needs to improve, he showed above average ability at the plate. The right-handed hitter uses an open stance combined with an easy and short load to generate power.  He ran a 7.14 60-yard dash.

Dionte Riley (2012/Cincinnati Withrow)
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound outfielder is full of raw, athletic talent. From the outfield, he registered a velocity of 82 mph while throwing into the wind. With some mechanical adjustments, Riley can surely improve his velocity and accuracy. At the plate, the right-handed hitter starts with an open stance and uses a small leg kick. While he has some drifting issues at the plate, Riley’s explosive bat speed allows him to display powerful line drives upon contact. He ran the event’s best 60-yard dash time of 6.62.

Nick Meece (2013/Moeller)
The 5-foot-9, 170-pound outfielder has a solid, athletic build. While a bit undersized, he displayed 80 mph velocity from the outfield. At the plate, the right-handed hitter uses an athletic setup with his hands starting high. His swing features a slight uphill bat path, and he shows surprising power for his size. He ran a 7.27 60-yard dash.

Ryan Addington (2013/Lakota West)

The 5-foot-9, 145-pound outfielder needs to become physically stronger, but he is an intriguing prospect to follow next summer. From the outfield, the right-handed throwing prospect displayed a velocity of 80 mph. At the plate, the left-handed hitting plays the part of a pesky, contact hitter. With additional physical development and mechanical adjustments, he will only improve as a hitter. He ran a 7.01 60-yard dash.

Charles Atherton (2012/Mount Vernon)
The 6-foot, 155-pound outfielder displayed 76 mph velocity from the outfield. At the plate, the right-handed hitter uses a short stride and has a tendency to bar his front arm while loading. As a result, he has a tendency to pull the baseball while generating quick bat speed. He ran a 7.11 60-yard dash.

Coby Bromen (2012/Anderson)
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound outfielder has a solid, athletic frame. He displayed 75 mph velocity from the outfield. At the plate, the right-handed hitter uses a balanced approach with his hands starting close to his body. He ran a 7.44 60-yard dash.

Jake Schreckenhofer (2012/Indian Hill)
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound prospects plays outfield and first base. He displayed a max velocity of 68 mph from the outfield. At the plate, he uses a wide base and open stance to generate pull power. He ran a 7.01 60-yard dash.
