2026 PNW Fall Games - Quick Hits

Dylan Grenz
Assistant Scouting Director

This Saturday, Prep Baseball hosted the Pacific Northwest Fall Games at Union High School in Vancouver, WA. Prep Baseball staff evaluated players in the 2027-2030 grad classes, with several strong performances seen throughout.

Prep Baseball fall events serve as an indicator for scouts and recruiters heading into the next calendar year. The fall presents a unique time where players are in a rhythm from playing consistent baseball throughout the spring and summer. Standout performances can lead to invites to some of Prep Baseball's top events in 2027, including PNW Preseason All-State, Future Games, and PNW State Games.

Today, we release our Quick Hits, presenting scouting notes on standout performers from the events. Prospects are listed alphabetically by last name. Stay tuned in the coming days for all post-event coverage.

Pacific Northwest Fall Games (10.3.26)

Quick Hits

'28 1B/RHP Isaiah Barge (Union, WA)
Barge presents an intriguing blend of size and athleticism, listed 6'5, 190 pounds. The two-way talent started his day strong with a 6.95 60 yard dash time that was among the best at the event. The righthander carries some rawness defensively and at the plate, but the long levers impacted the ball when on time, with low 90's exit velocities and balls hit up to 357 feet. Barge then excelled during the gameplay portion of the event, reaching base in all 3 plate appearances with a pair of walks and a double. He also worked a pair of efficient scoreless innings on the mound, working a 3-pitch mix with a lower spin arsenal. Prospect to keep an eye on as he develops.

'30 INF Ben Borden (Bishop Blanchet, WA)
Borden was just seen at our Seattle Freshman Free event, where he was one of the best players in attendance, and he more than held his own last weekend against the older competition. The swing continued to play, carrying a gradual hovering leg lift to close a slightly open setup. The swing operation was repeatable with a steeper path and a controlled two-handed finish. Borden had a couple of line drive singles, and was one of the more productive bats during gameplay at Fall Games. A middle infield type with smoother actions in a medium RH frame, there's quite a bit to like from the young Bishop Blanchet prospect.

'28 INF/RHP Jacob Bryant (Battle Ground, WA)
Bryant's well-rounded workout highlighted his weekend, on top of generating some swing and miss on the mound. The junior carries both lateral quickness and straight line speed, running a 6.98 60 yard dash and making some ranging plays defensively. At the plate, Bryant was consistent and on the barrel, peaking with a 92.7 MPH exit velocity while averaging 86 MPH in his BP rounds. The upper half coils gradually with a strong lower half throughout. On the moud, Bryant recorded 5 strikeouts across his two innings pitched, with a fastball into the upper 70's and a four pitch mix overall.

'29 OF/RHP Nash Echelbarger (Meadowdale, WA)
Seen at a number of Prep Baseball events, Echelbarger set several new personal bests metrically and is an underclassman to keep tabs on. The 5'10 lefty bat is more contact over power to this point, with a more lean frame moving well and exit velocities up to 93.9 MPH. A 7.09 runner in the 60, Echelbarger has produced throws up to 81 MPH from the outfield and ran the FB north of 80 MPH as well. Though he took some time to find the zone, Echelbarger found his groove in his second inning and was able to land the breaking ball in all counts. He also finished 1 for 3 with a single offensively during gameplay.

'28 OF Connor Halverson (Sherwood, OR)
The bat led the way for the junior out of Oregon in this look, both in BP and in gameplay. Halverson was on the barrel from the jump in the workout, peaking with a 95.3 MPH exit velocity while averaging 90.9 MPH. Halverson creates some rhythm in his stance pre-pitch with a narrow lower half, working a flat, stiff-wristed swing through with a longer one-handed finish. After driving balls north of 350 feet in BP, he found a pair of barrels during gameplay, lining out and singling in his final two AB's. The arm strength and speed may develop further given some time, but a strong offensive showing earned Halverson a spotlight.

'29 INF Easton Matthias (Union, WA)
No batter saw better results in-game, as the young infielder finished 3-3 with 2 singles and a double on Saturday. Matthias sets with balance in the lower half and looser hands, with a slight uphill path and firm front side at contact. The swing really works to the pull side and middle of the field and produced line drive after line drive. Matthias drove in several RBI's as a part of his big showing as well. On the mound, the arm strength is still developing, but the spin rates suggest a jump could be coming. The FB held over 2300 RPM at its best, and the CB was at nearly 2500 RPM with 12/6 action. Standout performer.

'28 OF Liam Reich (Mead, WA)
Reich's physicality led to some of the louder numbers at the event, building off of an impressive performance in Spokane earlier this summer. The 6'1 righthander ran a 7.00 60-yard dash time and looked the part of a productive corner OF with throws up to 82 MPH. The heavier barrel could do real damage when sync'ed up, peaking with EV's north of 95 MPH and balls hit up to 375 feet. Reich's pop from the right side is in part attributed to his hand speed and rotational quickness, both metrics at or near the top of the event leaderboards. Reich will be a name to circle in the eastern part of the state as he enters his upper class seasons.

'29 C/INF Jaidyn Von Ruden (Lebanon, OR)
A really exciting young prospect out of Oregon, Von Ruden improved his game in all facets since a look late in 2025. A versatile defender, Von Ruden more than held his own in the infield but looked best at the catcher position, where he showed great twitch and a best pop time of 1.97 seconds. The BP was exceptional and among the most consistent, peaking with a 95.9 MPH EV and averaging north of 89 MPH. Despite some tough breaks during gameplay, the swing and approach were sound and looked the part of a varsity contributor moving forward. A 7.27 runner with strength and athleticism in a medium RH frame, Von Ruden was a big winner at Fall Games.
