PNW Uncommitted 2023s

Shooter Hunt
National Crosschecker

The spring season is on the horizon, and as college coaches scramble to gather as much intel and information on uncommitted players, On the Hunt gives a look at a strong collection of 2023 players coming out of the Pacific Northwest. Showcasing at the Northwest Preseason Invitational, each of the players below exhibited intriguing upside and potential, and are sure to make their way onto the radars of recruiters at the next level.

Dylan Osborne OF / LHP / Union, WA / 2023

Osborne continues to trend upwards as a potential two-way prospect at the next level. Much more physical than he was at the PBR Future Games in August, the now 5-foot-11, 160-pounder has added some lean, natural strength throughout a high-waisted frame. He posted a 6.68 60-yard dash time before bouncing around with quality glove-skills in defensive work showcasing the potential to stick in centerfield at the next level. The left-handed hitter has also made strides at the plate where his load and separation have become smoother, working in sync with a minor leg-hang that allows him to gain momentum through impact. He took a couple quality, more mature rounds of batting practice, utilizing the entire field with an emphasis on working middle with a flat path through the zone. There is more power to come, and given the all-around athleticism that he possesses, expect it to show up sooner rather than later. Osborne’s upside on the mound also continues to be highly intriguing. He has upwards of 28 BU’s on the fastball, and while the velocity was not eye-opening in this early season bullpen, the potential that the advanced metrics and Trackman provide should make his future growth highly enticing for college coaches, especially when taking into account his ability to spin a sharper slider.
