2022 FL Preseason All-State: Team White Analysis

The 2022 FL Preseason All-State took place Saturday, January 22th and Sunday, January 23rd at Sanford Memorial Stadium in Sanford, FL. The two day event featured players from the 2022-2026 classes participating in a batting practice on day one followed by a pro-style workout and gameplay on day two in front of the PBR Florida Scouting Staff.

Team White Analysis

Ben Abram 3B / 2B / Fleming Island , FL / 2024

5-foot-9, 160-pound solid athletic frame. Solid in the box, Abram recorded an exit velocity of 79 mph. (63.5 mph bat speed average). (20.5 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced stance with a smooth compact load, then uses a short stride. Has efficient bat speed, short simple swing plane and high finish. He barreled up some balls with some loud contact. Line drive approach. Athletic in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 78 mph; had consistent hands, rhythmic footwork, and a quick exchange. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.88.

Brooks Baker OF / Bolles, FL / 2024

5-foot-10, 188-pound solid build. Solid in the box, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 86 mph. (70.4 mph bat speed average). (22.4 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced athletic stance with a rhythmic load, then uses a short stride. Has a short uphill swing plane, above average bat speed and high finish. Found some barrels with loud contact. Pull side approach. Clocked a time of 7.17 in the 60-yard dash. 

Rylan Baker OF / LHP / Bolles, FL / 2026

5-foot-9, 149-pound lean build. Smooth at the plate, the left-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 76 mph. (58.5 mph bat speed average). (16.8 mph hand speed average). Started in an athletic stance with a smooth load, then used a controlled stride. Bat speed is developing, uses a short simple swing plane and balanced finish. He barreled up some balls with some loud contact. Base hit approach. While catching, his best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 70 mph; showed a clean transfer, soft hands, and smooth developing feet. Quiet setup with some flexibility. Showed decent accuracy to the bag with a ¾ slot and a short arm action. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.23. Capable on the mound, showing some arm speed he had a ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows easy effort. Showed athletic balance point and even shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Sat with his fastball at 69-71 mph; has slight tailing action and decent command with straight movement. (Max spin 1718; Avg 1540). Threw a tight curveball (63-64) that showed down in the zone command and slurvey action. (Max spin 1938; Avg 1896). Had fading action and control around the zone on his straight changeup (65-66).

Collin Briggs SS / 2B / St Johns Country Day, FL / 2024

5-foot-7, 142-pound lean build. Capable at the plate, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 80 mph. (60.5 mph bat speed average). (20.6 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced stance with a smooth load, then used a controlled long stride. Has developing bat speed, short swing plane and balanced finish. Found some barrels with some loud contact. Line drive approach. Athletic in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 71 mph; has consistent hands, a clean exchange, and smooth feet. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Used a quick arm action and a high ¾ slot while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. Clocked a time of 7.36 in the 60-yard dash.

Jalen Foxx OF / LHP / Seminole, FL / 2025

5-foot-10, 150-pound lean athletic frame. Solid during batting practice, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 83 mph. (67.4 mph bat speed average). (22.1 mph hand speed average). Starts in a quiet balanced stance with a quick load, then uses a controlled stride. Bat speed is efficient, uses a short simple swing plane and high finish. Found some barrels during his round. Base hit approach. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.49.

Marco Gonzalez 3B / OF / Winter Springs, FL / 2024

5-foot-11, 190-pound athletic build. Solid in the box, Gonzalez clocked an exit velocity of 87 mph. (71.9 mph bat speed average). (21.4 mph hand speed average). Starts in a quiet balanced stance with a quick load, then uses a controlled stride. Has a simple upward swing plane, quick bat speed and good extension on his finish. Line drive approach. While in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 72 mph. In the outfield, his throws to the bases were maxed out at 78 mph. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.01.

Kyle Hopper RHP / OF / Lake Nona, FL / 2025

6-foot-3, 165-pound projectable build. Solid in the box, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 73 mph. (56.4 mph bat speed average). (17.8 mph hand speed average). Began in a tall quiet stance with a compact load, then used a controlled stride. Had efficient bat speed, loose uphill swing plane and high finish. Gap to gap approach. Solid from the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 75 mph; has a natural exchange, sure hands, and consistent feet. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Showed a high ¾ slot and a long arm action. Clocked a 60 time of 7.91 at the event. On the mound, showed consistent arm speed, also used a high ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action. Tall-and-fall type pitcher who shows easy effort. Threw his fastball 76-79 mph. Had slight running action. (Max spin 2164; Avg 2050). Shows slurvey action on his 11/5 curveball (64-64). (Max spin 2015; Avg 1996).

Jace Kohler SS / RHP / Calvary Christian, FL / 2024

6-foot, 165-pound athletic frame. Solid at the plate, Kohler's best exit velocity was 87 mph. (70.7 mph bat speed average). (20.8 mph hand speed average). Begins in an athletic quiet stance with a quick load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed was quick, used a simple uphill swing plane and balanced finish. Gap to gap approach. Solid while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 82 mph; shows consistent feet, twitchy hands, and a clean exchange. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Used a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.04.

Keegan Leckband RHP / Fleming Island, FL / 2024

Solid on the mound, showing consistent arm speed he used a high ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses easy effort. During his delivery balance point is tall with downhill shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Sat with his fastball at 77-79 mph. Has slight running action. (Max spin 2099; Avg 2027). Threw a 11/5 curveball (70-72) with some action. (Max spin 1773; Avg 1733). He had slight fading action on his changeup (75-75). His splitter (69-71) has deceiving action.

Ivan Luciano C / 3B / Thomas Alva Edison, PR / 2024

5-foot-9, 160-pound athletic frame. Solid in the box, Luciano clocked an exit velocity of 83 mph. (67.0 mph bat speed average). (19.2 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced quiet stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick. Has efficient bat speed, simple flat swing plane and good extension on his finish. Line drive approach. While catching, his best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 74 mph; showed sure hands, a clean transfer, and consistent feet. recorded pop times of 2.18-2.26. Calm setup with some flexibility. Used a quick arm action with a high ¾ slot. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.95.

Dominick Patruno RHP / C / Englewood, FL / 2025

6-foot, 175-pound strong build. Solid in the box, Patruno's best exit velocity was 79 mph. (59.3 mph bat speed average). (20.1 mph hand speed average). Begins in an active stance with a controlled load, then uses a toe tap stride. Bat speed was efficient, had a loose uphill swing plane and high finish. Line drive approach. While catching, his best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 69 mph; had sure hands, consistent footwork, and a natural transfer. he had a pop time of 2.25-2.51. Calm setup with some flexibility. Used a quick arm action and a high ¾ slot. Clocked a 60 time of 7.72 at the event. On the mound, showed consistent arm speed with a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Feel type pitcher who uses easy effort. Produced a fastball that came in at 79-81 mph. Austin Pierzynski C / 1B / The First Academy, FL / 2025

5-foot-11, 140-pound athletic build. Solid at the plate, Pierzynski had a max exit velocity of 77 mph. (61.6 mph bat speed average). (18.9 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a quick load, then used a controlled stride. Has developing quick bat speed, loose uphill swing plane and good extension on his finish. While catching, he made throws to second at velocities up to 73 mph; had quick footwork, soft hands, and a clean transfer. recorded a pop time of 2.16-2.38. Some flexibility and quiet setup. Keagan Pita C / 1B / Western, FL / 2026

6-foot-3, 165-pound lengthy frame. Solid during batting practice, the left-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 79 mph. (56.1 mph bat speed average). (17.7 mph hand speed average). Began in an active tall stance with a controlled load, then used a leg kick. Bat speed is efficient, has a loose upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Pull side approach. Behind the plate, his best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 63 mph; has a natural transfer, choppy feet, and sure hands. recorded a pop time of 2.52-2.76. Cole Rambler 3B / RHP / Ponte Vedra, FL / 2025

6-foot-3, 185-pound projectable athletic build. Solid in the box, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 86 mph. (67.8 mph bat speed average). (20.1 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced athletic stance with a quick load, then uses a controlled stride. Had a simple uphill swing plane, quick bat speed and good extension on his balanced finish. Gap to gap approach. Solid while in the infield, made throws up to 80 mph; shows consistent feet, sure hands, and a fluid exchange. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Used a high ¾ slot with a quick arm action. Recorded a time of 7.51 in the 60-yard dash. On the mound, had a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with quick arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows easy effort. Produced a fastball that came in at 80-82 mph. Has slight running action. (Max spin 2200; Avg 2099). Has some sweeping action on his 11/5 curveball (67-68). (Max spin 1947; Avg 1947). His changeup (71-71) showed slight fading action.

Braden Rosenthal RHP / 1B / Calvary Christian Academy, FL / 2025

6-foot-3, 205-pound solid projectable build. Solid in the box, Rosenthal recorded an exit velocity of 89 mph. (71.5 mph bat speed average). (20.4 mph hand speed average). Started in an athletic tall stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick. Bat speed is quick, displays a rotational swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid in the infield, displayed a velocity of 78 mph; had consistent footwork, soft hands, and a clean exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Ryan Senecal C / 3B / Jupiter, FL / 2025
