Pelletier Commits To TCU, 28 Hours From Home

MASCOUCHE, QUEBEC - In the seven years of existence, the Future Games has proven to provide memories for participants that will last a lifetime. But few will reach the memory that happened this year for Raphael Pelletier.

“I came back to the hotel after the second day and my coach told me to call the TCU coach,” explained the junior at Edouard-Montpetit High School. “He said I’d like to give you a scholarship and the day after I accepted.”

The opportunity to play in the BIg 12 at a university 28 hours from home began just prior to the Future Games.

“They saw me in a tournament the week before in Texas,” explained Pelletier, who was playing with Academy Baseball of Canada. “Their coach was talking to my coach and he said he was going to go to the Future Games so he had more time to see me on the field.”

Pelletier saw the TCU campus located in Fort Worth while in Texas.

“I was very impressed,” pointed out the 16-year-old. “We had two tournaments in Texas, one in Dallas and the other at TCU. I know we saw a lot of football fields there, so I’m pretty sure they love football there.”
