New England Top Five Breakdown: Top Viewed Prospect Profiles for Rhode Island - #4 Chris Wright

Chris Wright#4 Chris Wright, 2016 (Bryant commit)
Background: At 6-foot-1,180-pound left-handed pitcher, strong pitching body, lower half is thick and strong, upper body is durable pitchers frame. Wright throws from a ¾ slot, ball comes out of his hand with ease. Fastball is 81-83 with late life as ball jumps when it gets to the plate, much more in the tank. The delivery is simple with an easy leg raise, frontside is strong and is in proper position on foot strike. Front leg is soft after it strikes and needs to firmed up a bit. Needs to do a better job of locating to the glove side, into right-handed hitters, ball tends to stay away and gives them a little longer look. The curveball was thrown at 68-71. The feel for the changeup was good, used same arm speed and sold it with his entire body.
