New England Top Five Breakdown: Top Viewed Prospect Profiles for Rhode Island - #5 Benjamin Aleixo

Benjamin Aleixo#5 Benjamin Aleixo, 2017
Background: I love the potential on the mound, has a feel for all three pitches and the body projects to fill out very nicely. On the mound, got up to 82 with a fastball with arm side run. The delivery is simple with a little coil and a wide front side. The arm path is long and quick, the arm is long and lanky. Big feet to boot. The breaking ball is short and tight, getting to 71. Showed a feel for the minus pitch at 70. Pitches from a ¾ arm slot. As a positional player, threw 78 from the infield with a solid glove. Made a few nice plays in the game. At the plate, had a 85 mph tee exit velocity out of a high elbow, even base swing. The hands work but the bat needs strength to it. Guy on the mound in the future.
